A Bibliophiles dream, plus employees that know what they are doing. Brilliant place.

Red Lion Books

125 High St, Colchester CO1 1SZ, UK – 01206 578584

One of the friendliest independent book shops I've ever been into. The staff are knowledgeable and are able to answer almost any question that you may have (on books at least, I have never challenged them on orthopedic foot care). Beware though, you'll want to buy loads of books!

I always enjoy going to this bookshop, they host some great events and are super friendly. Got to support the local stores.

Ace Comics

42 Culver St E, Colchester CO1 1LE, UK – 01206 561912

Ace is a comic shop, not in the sense that Forbidden Planet is a comic shop but a real honest to god comic book shop. There is an extremely large back issue section that covers everything from Spider-Man and Batman to Doctor Who and Saga. The staff are approachable and more than willing to back order issues, import or help you anyway they can including sending you to other places that may have what you're looking for. They have a large selection of board games and pop vinyls and other general pop culture merchandise.

The best comic shop bar none! Friendly team, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Great range of products to cater for everyone.
